The short version

There is a version of this biography that lists the titles. CEO. Vice Mayor. Chief of Staff. Professor. Entrepreneur. Author. Occasional Speaker and TEDx Speaker in various languages. That version is accurate. It is also the least interesting thing about Ricardo Jovani. The more interesting version starts in a hotel kitchen in Sydney.

He currently divides his professional life between teaching at business schools in Madrid and Barcelona, building Jolufoods S.L. — the specialty food and beverage company he co-founded with his wife Lucy — and writing. He is the author of The TriCore Method: A Complete Business Vision and 2+2 Is Never 4: There Is Always a Way.

He was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia after living with both for forty years. That detail is not a footnote. It is the key to understanding everything else.

CEO of Milbances Group, third largest land developer in Catalunya. Twice-elected Vice Mayor of Vendrell, and Chief of Staff to Josep Piqué, former Minister of Spain.

2009–2018

Australia

Arrived in Sydney as nobody — deliberately. Kitchen cleaning supervisor to F&B director, Wolgan Valley, tier-one joinery project management, and the opening of Mejico in Sydney CBD.

2018–Present

Madrid

Operations Chief at fintech Splash, then co-founder of Jolufoods S.L. with his wife Lucy. Teaching Crisis Management, Operations & Supply Chain, and Geopolitics.

The philosophy

The TriCore Method

Every business — regardless of sector, size or complexity — reduces to three things: Inputs, Transformation, Outputs. It was not invented in a library. It was built across hotel kitchens, factory floors, restaurant openings and construction projects.

2+2 Is Never 4

Business success is not a formula. Variables are fluid, context-dependent and infinitely recombinable. Failure is feedback. Rigidity kills innovation. There is always a way forward.

The pedagogical mission

He does not teach to transmit knowledge — he teaches to catalyse the emergence of opinionated individuals. Understand it so well you can break it, and be brave enough to say what you think.

Business Complexity & The TriCore Method

Every business reduces to three irreducible components — Inputs, Transformation, Outputs. Mastering that structure is the prerequisite for innovating beyond it.

2+2 Is Never 4: Why Fixed Formulas Fail

Business success is not a recipe. Variables are fluid. The most dangerous thing a leader can do is believe the formula.

Crisis Management as a Business Discipline

Not reactive firefighting — proactive infrastructure. Delivered by someone who lived through the 2008 construction collapse as CEO.

The Individual Against the Collective

On homogenisation, apathy and the cost of consensus thinking. The next competitive advantage is not a technology — it is an opinion.

Reinvention as Strategy

From Catalan CEO to Sydney kitchen cleaner to restaurant builder to educator — what it actually means to start again.

Leadership Without a Title

What genuine leadership looks like stripped of hierarchy and credentials. Built from 25 years of watching who people actually follow.

Geopolitics for Business Leaders

The next supply chain crisis and the next opportunity are already visible on the map — if you know how to read it.

Praxeology & Individual Autonomy

Human action and choice as the foundation for understanding markets, organisations and why people do what they do.

The TEDx talk: individuals and the collective

Individuals amaze him. One at a time, people are creative, generous, surprising, unrepeatable. As a collective, humanity has drifted — through homogenisation, apathy and ennui — into something smaller than the sum of its parts.

Real freedom must be rooted in logic, coherence and authenticity. Without these, capitalism risks becoming a theatre of imposed desires. The antidote is the opinionated individual.

He did not build a philosophy. He survived one into existence.
